Default Mechanical fan scrapping crank

Well I have an issue so with my mechanical fan the one that is pully driven scrapping the crank pully. Any ideas why.

Your harmonic balancer (the 'pulley'on the crankshaft) has likely moved forward. Might also have a wobble when you see it spin. Replace it, since the rubber in it is migrating on the way out and you will have your clearance between the pulley and the fan back to normal.

When it stated clacking while driving. I than I pulled over and noticed at the bottom of the crank the new belt was down 3 groves off the pully.

The vibration damper is coming apart. It will need to be replaced.
