maxed out oil pressure
I recently insalled the new guadge cluster and all is fine except for the oil pressure. It buries the oil pressure guage, anyone have the same problem?? Or could this be normal?

i had that problem and it was the oil sending unit.
seeing as you replaced the cluster maybe there's a compatibility issue? i still get confused with cluster swaps.

I've also heard of senders being an issue with gauge cluster swaps. Especially when going from dummy lights to actual gauges. Many people forget the sending units for each gauge type are different. Did you replace the sender?

Mine is maxed out to. I have noticed many XJs in the bone yards with the same thing. So if you get an oil sender from the Bone yard should you make sure the oil gauge is to the left and not maxed out?????

The thing i learned during this guage cluster swap was that there are two diffent oil sending units depending on the guage cluster you have. If you have the cluster with the gas guage where the tach should be and only oil, volts, and temp lights, the sending unit will need to be changed so it doesnt max out. jeep made two different ones depending on if you have oil light or guage.
