max tire size on stock rims with no lift?
first of all this my first post and hopefully not my last.
ok hes the predicament. all stock black 1997 2wd 4door cherokee sport, this is my daily driver and im not planing on taking it off road at all. the plan is to eventually get a 3" lift on there(hopefully around summer) but right now i really need new tires BAD, mine might as well be racing slicks. so whats the biggest tire i can get on the stock rims with no lift so that when i do get my lift i wont have to turn around and buy 4 new tires. im not planing on taking it off road even when i do get the lift i just think XJ's so much better with them. i would like for the tires not to rub(obviously) since there is always the possiblility that i may never get the lift even after ive put new tires on.
as far as tires go im looking at all-terrain tires, bridgestones, firestones, BFG's etc, ive got about $600(on tires) to spend but i would like to stay as low as possible(preferably 450-500 range) without making any big compromises(treadwear etc.)
thanks for your suggestions in advance.

I was looking into 30x9.50 General Grabber AT2s, They seem to have some pretty nice reviews and seem to be nicely priced. I found them at a good price here. I ended up going a different direction so I didn't get them.http://www.treadepot.com/
Like Kyle said, with a bit of rubbing you can fit 30's.
