Manually UPSHIFTING Auto trans

So my friends and i got into an argument while doing burnouts...

Is it safe to shift from 1/2 up to 3 up to Drive while under speed with foot off gas? I have heard yes (if it was bad, why wouldn't Chrysler set it up so the brake had to be pressed in order to shift) and i have also heard horror stories.

Please enlighten me

Homie, you will be fine. As long as your fluids are good and your Tq converter is ok... you wont hurt it.

I shift from Drive to Neutral ALL the time. It's never given me a problem so I don't see why you couldn't shift from 1/2 to 3.

i just recently blew out my yolk straps and "something else" by shifting from neutral to drive under speed, without too much throttle (on accident, had throttle pressed in slightly)...but from 1/2 to 3, i shift from all the time...there should be no problem as long as your drivetrain is in check
