Default 2001 XJ Limited: Help, dash light warning? (pic)

Anyone know what this means? I feel stupid for asking but it just happened while driving around town today? Thanks

P.S. I'm new to the XJ world...

Thanks again!

Check engine light. Could mean any number of sensors. You can go to most parts stores like auto zone and the will pull the codes for free

BTW on the later model jeeps some problems will actually cause the Jeep to go into limp mode. I had a 00 Xj and when it had one of the 4 02 sensors go out it caused my AC to turn off and it would no shift into OD. Changed out the bad 02 sensor and everything was back to normal. I guess they figure of they make it uncomfortable and make it cost a lot in fuel you would be more likely to change it out.

I wouldn't think your new battery would have caused it. It probably isn't a big deal but you might want to figure out what it is so it doesn't develop into something bigger. There is a reason for the light to come on and that is to tell you that something is not working correctly.
