alright guys i've got a question for you... i think that my tranny is going out, or on its way, so its got me thinking... how hard is it to swap in a 5 speed manual? i have a 4speed auto in my 97 cherokee right now. just the stock tranny, but they did make a 5 speed option right? anyways let me know, cause if i replace the tranny, i think it'd be fun to go manual. thanks!

 

the AX15 is the one i'm thinking would be a correct swap if it works btw.

 

you can do it but you'll need all the suff that goes with it.

 

okay cool. i found a link to a great write up on here. but does anyone know with the year i have if it is still a direct bolt on as far as the tranny goes and if the transfer case will need to be changed? most manual's are 23 spline i believe. anyways, thanks!
