Manual lock problem

Manual lock problem
My front door locks are stuck in the "locked" position, only problem is they are still opened from the inside and out. I tried locking them from the outside, and still nothing. When i tried doing this, it felt like when i turned the kkey it was hard to turn. any ideas at all?
