liquid electrical tape works good for connectors
extending vent hoses
electric fan (so you can turn it off when you are going in the water)
EDIT: and be prepared to change axle and trans fluids after

Surprised no one has mentioned raising the breather for the auto tranny. And on that subject, if anyone has an "easy" way to do that - now's a good time to post up!

my tj was always in water crossings in Mi. I never had any troubles with electronics, just nasty stink smell from stagnant ponds. I would have batt. gauge crash and check gauges light on untill I was out of water for about a min. back to normal after that.

I typed up two pages of tips and then hit the wrong key.
Oh, well.
Here is a pic, the Jeep stayed running the whole time, you can see the exhaust bubbles if you look close.
Later that day my computer got real bad, not sure if water did it or when my winch shorted out about half hour later. I did find water under the silicone potting compund inside the computer.
Notice in this pic, all electrical connectors at the kickpanels are underwater. When I was pulled out, the water sloshed around and got up into the dashboard and interior fuse panel. The doors fill up with water also.
The snorkel keeps the fan belt from slinging water into the intake in this situation.
It also prevents the wave from going into the intake.
My rear axle vent is visible on the left hatch pillar.
My starter survived, but I usually have to get a new on every season.
The seats took a month to dry out, been driving with a trash can liner on my side!
I have a plastic trashbag over the distributer with holes for the wires to come out.
If water splashes drectly on the dist, the warm air inside the cap condenses from the temperature change, the trash bag prevent that.
On my 91 the computer is upnext to theairbox.
the '95 does not have a distributor does it? and the computer is inside, right?

my best advice to you.
get the lockable/sealing Tupperware containers they have a rubber gasket on the lid and lock on all 4 sides. get them big enough for your computer, trans module if you have one, and fuse blocks. You drll a hole just big enough for the wires to fit thru and then seal them up real good with silicone/rtv. This will make them waterproof(i have done this to a few sand buggies to keep the fine sand/dust out of the control centers.
Next take di-electric grease and put it on EVERY electrical connector/sensor under the engine bay. and inside the jeep.
extend all of your vent lines and put k&n filters on them. oil and water dont mix so it will keep almost all water out of your vent lines.
move your alt to where your ac compressor is.
seal your intake.
marine speakers, or expect a horrible sounding ride home.
manual doors and windows would be nice too
