Default make transfer case drop

on a budget and need to piece together my own tcase drop. anyone know what size bolts ill need? and should i just use some big nuts as spacers, what else could i use? any input is helpful.

I don't know the length of bolts needed, but my XJ came with a budget TC drop that consisted of three pieces of 1X2 .120 wall steel tube. Just drill some holes that line up with both sides of the crossmember and the TC skid in the tube and put it between the frame and crossmember. You'll end up with 1" drop. Bunch of writeups on budget upgrades, just search.

I can't remember the bolt size, but they are metric & the grade is important.

You want grade 10.9 They are available at Advance auto, but you'll need two stores. Each store only stocks three bolts.


I used some 5/8-11 cheap galvanized nuts from Lowe's. A total of 8 pcs. Two per new bolt


Be careful taking out the studs, they don't fit through the crossmember because they have little shoulders. lower down the crossmember's side that you are working on, to get the stud out.

dude, IRO makes a 1" drop for like $25 bucks. I bet you can swing that.
