I got some heat for it, but I got Pirelli Scorpion ATR...they're $$ though.

I previously had Remington Wide Brute (around $80/tire) and they did just fine for all terrain. Just my experience (which isn't much).

It seems that BF Goodrich All Terrains are ever popular. Just thread search "tire" and you'll probably find a billion hits

Step 1: Take a deep breath

Step 2: Follow this link and replace your U-joints: http://jeepin.com/features/ujoint/

Step 3: Test drive for vibes. If vibes, go on to step 4. If no vibes, skip to step 5.

Step 4: Consult forum for alternatives (e.g., tires, wheels, shocks, etc)

Step 5: Thank the forum for diagnosing and leading you to proper repair of your XJ.

Hate to tell you guys this but if your absolutely sure the tires are balanced (Even though they lose the weights off them all the time from rust) and the ujoints are perfectly lubricated and the drive shaft is perfectly balanced (Even though they lose the weights off them all the time from rust) AND all the rear suspension parts like ubolts and spring bushings are tight, then there is only one last place to look.
And I would double and triple check everything I posted above before going down this road as it gets expensive real fast.

Your pinion bearing is going or you have broken teeth on your ring gear.
Are you happy now?
Please go back and double check the simple easy cheaper stuff first!
