Default Major service questions...

Greetings list members. I have 1998 Cherokee Sport, 4-door, 6 cyl, auto trans, Command-Trac 4WD, 98,000 miles... but before I bought it several years ago, it had been towed behind a motor home for about 50,000 miles. It is in great condition and I drive it almost every day. I have been using synthetic oil exclusively.

Now I am planning a major service and inspection so that I can continue enjoying this Jeep for a long time.

I imagine that there have been many improvements in oils and fluids since 1998, so I would like to ask this list about synthetic trans fluid and gear oil. Any brands I should use... and any I should avoid.

I also plan to do a brake inspection and flush as long as I'm getting dirty.

And... while I'm asking... how hard is it to replace the headliner? It is kinda hard to see out with part of the headliner drapped over your head. I used some staples to hold the loose parts up to the padding... but that looks terrible.

Thanks for any and all help.

Headliner is pretty straight forward there are many threads on how to do it. Here's a pic of mine i did last weekend. The aftermarket sunroof made it much more complicated.
