I like straight thru, no baffles/chambers, stainless steel Magnaflow muffs but don't see anything magic about their tubing. About $80 for a universal 5X8X18 #12256 center in/offset out 2.5" muff thru Jegs/Summit. If u want loud, u'll be disappointed with the Magnaflow.

I paid 200 for my magnaflow exhaust , pipe and hi flow cat. The flowmaster sounds better in my opinion. But no exhaust is cheaper n sounds way better

i got a straight pipe then a thrush glasspack, and its as loud as you can get while being legal at least in my area we have no emission inspections only safety inspection so i can get away with it,you would have to check your emission laws 1st though

I wasn't too impressed with my magnaflow muffler either. I am going for flow master next time!

Its all about personal preference. On my V8 trucks I always did headers and race mufflers to have a deep nasty loud sound.

On my jeep i want something very subtle but can be heard that its not stock. The few flowmasters I have heard on the 4.0 are a good loud tone, but def scream 6cyl from a mile away. Not saying a 6cyl can sound like a v8...Its just not the sound Im looking for.

This being said...I have noticed more people than not rank the flowmaster as the best sound for the 4.0L

I put a flowmaster 40 series on mine last week, and I like the way it sounds. I also put a high flow cat.

Jegs or Summit, can't remember now, installed it a year ago and have ordered a bunch of stuff from both.

I don't think the Magnaflow sounds loud or weird but then I installed one of the larger models. The taller, wider, longer the muff case, it usually means a quieter muff. I've had Flows on numerous vehicles and the same size Mags (to me) are just quieter. I wish it could be straight thru, zero restriction AND as quiet as stock but I'm an old fart now.
