Default magna flow cat

how many of you are using them and do they help or lose gas mileage? i was thinking about putting one on my jeep since it needs one and it is cheaper than oem. who sells the cheapest one?

I found them cheap on eBay brand new. Your talking about the hi flow cat right? I saw them for about $90.

yea thye high flow. i seen them on ebay for like $115 i think. someone on here posted a link where there was pretty cheap but i dont remember where it was.

way to much money... spun converter... got mine couple months ago $40 on ebay...

i have no idea... cause i did 2.5 pipe... single chamber muffler... header... 01 intake... ford injectors... all at the same time... lol

Wow, what kind of gain did you feel after that? Those are all things on my very long to do list.

ttt..... anybody have the magnaflow cat and noticed a change in mpg? mine has no cat on it right now and it get 9-10 mpg. i am looking for a cat that will help my gas mileage. the oem is $150 and i'm trying to go with a cheaper route...

just take it to a muffler shop and tell them you want a cat to help mpgs and that you dont wanna cut off a limb

lots of mid to high end... deff can feel the difference... now im wanting to try the mustang throttle body and see if i cant get alittle more air in there... and then neon injectors i guess... then im pretty much good on this motor and ill leave it alone... lol

A cat is not going to improve your mpg when you don't have one installed at all. If you had a plugged cat that would be another story. I get 9-10 mpg on my Chevy 2500HD 8.1L with a lead foot.

i am just trying to see if going from a o.e.m cat to a magna flow dropped any gas mileage.

All Aftermarkets cats will be highflow..because they are Cheaper design than OEM..with less Platinum Filling.

it shouldnt....less back pressure so the exhaust is scavanged out of the cylinders quicker....you should benefit..however the difference would'nt be seen more than likely.
