Lunchbox Locker install
I am hearing yes and no on a lunchbox locker install on the front of XJs. I have a 94XJ
No because it doesn't have locking hubs and will affect steering
Yes it wont affect steering becuse your not in 4wd
I have one installed on my CJ7 but it has locking hubs, but I can remember traveling on hard pavement witht he hubs locked, (because I forgot to unlock them) and could feel no difference in driving

Aussie locker in the front of mine, daily driven with 35's. It grumbles and grunts on the super sharp/parking lot turns but the other 99% it's not even there.
I think there's alota "girls" that get too picky about their 10+ year old Jeeps then cry about it on the internet.

I'm also running a LockRite lunchbox in the rear. OMFG!!! My 17 year old Jeep makes a weird noise...WHAT AM I GONNA DO!!!!?!?! LOL!
On a serious note, i'd look into upgrading your tie bar with something like a V8 Cherokee solid bar or some other aftermarket beefed up version. IronRockOffroad sells a beffy/economical piece.
The locker makes the wimpy stock tube bar want to "boomerang" itself.

On my CJ, I slid a a piece of pipe over the steering linkage and welded both end, works like a champ.
This XJ is my sons, he lucked out, I had to change the ring and pinion gears in the front becuase they didn't match the back, the PO put in a 8.25 in the rear which had 3.55.
So I got a used set of 3.55s for the front, and I said heck, while im changing the R&P a locker would make a good xmas present
