Default Lower Sway Bar Link Mount Question

Doing a lift on my son's 2000 XJ. Cannot get the darned lower mount bold out of the mount that is welded to the frame......see picture.

The question I have is.........Is that T55 bolt THREADED into that mount bracket or should it simply slide through it into the sleeved bushing on the other side? I soaked it in PB Blaster and already bent a T55 tool trying to twist the thing out. If it is just rusted in the hole, I will just keep pounding and may even try drilling that stupid thing out.

Any advice anyone has on what to try to get that stupid thing removed would be greatly appreciated!! I would REALLY love to get this project done today....UGH!

It's pressed in. A gear/pulley remover of some sort can pop it right out.

You won't be able to spin it. The bolt head is deceiving as it is splined and pressed into the mount. Some guys do have luck by pressing it out, but it didn't work on mine. I ended up cutting off the bolt (angle grinder) flush with the mount, and hammered the head out with a punch. If you are replacing it anyway, this might be the quickest way.

Gear puller worked perfectly.......was totally rusted in there, but it finally came out.

Does anyone know what size the hole is in the mount? Once I get the factory bolt out I want to replace it with a threaded hitch pin, but I'm not sure what size to get.
