as for lowering... i would find a set of worn out xj springs and install. get some heavy subwoofers or something to put in the back and use the tj coils out front or lowering coils if you can find em.

Saw a Wrangler at the local VIP yesterday that I meant to take a photo of, but didn't have my camera with me. Lowered, and it had the wheels severely spaced out, so they were sticking out of the wheel wells by a good 4".

Puerto Rican balla' style.

350 and 5.7 are the same displacement.

also a cam will not net you 50 to 60 hp, probably around 20 hp at peak rpm and around 20 lb-ft of torque. thats still a pretty good improvement, but not 50 to 60 hp

not to jack the thread but just curious where you guys who have 98 & newer jeeps (JJaycXj) are getting your aftermarket cams...cause as far as i know they dont make a performance profile cam for any block made after 97' due to a change in camshaft design...am i wrong?

yea but hes making a street truck, not a wheeler. and a light 2JZ would make a way better all around performer than a heavy 350.

That would be sweet. Kinda a knock off of the SRT8 Grand Cherokee which I would love to have. I say cut down some F-150 springs for the front and do a spring under axle with some stiffer springs and some good thick sway bars front and rear and rally the hell out of it. Make sure it has a 242 with full time 4x4. FTW!!!

this would rock, but he said its 2wd IIRC.

but youd blow the 242 up pretty quick in fulltime with a lot of power. the fulltime diff inside it isnt super strong, but its bypassed in part time lock. a 242HD from a V8 WJ or a 247/249 would ROCK.

man now i want a SRT XJ haha. caliber SRT4 motor anyone? mmmmm

hey sounds like a cool project for a 2wd....

once again i'll say TJ coils up front (idk if 4cyl ones are softer than the 6cyl ones but it is something to look into)

also dont lower the back, jack it up, i love a jeep with a good rake to it

here is my '96 stock height up front, and 2.5" lift out back

sorry its a crappy pic but the rake looks great

Of course this would be for a 4x4.....

Ive run the **** out of my 242 on dry pavement with 33's and stock gearing and it hasn't let me down yet, though with that setup I'm sure it will someday, good thing I'm going to re-gear!

You guys are awesome.. im goin for that late model srt6 look i want to keep the inline instead of dropping in a v8 i i agree with the 2jz supra. the jeep is already pretty light for an Small SUV and im sure the 2jz has some torgue to it and around 2500 rpm the turbo will spool giving me an easy 300+ hp once its properly tuned... muahhaha I think ima save up and drop he 2jz in..

Ok tell me if you guys can picture in ur crazy lil minds the image of this jeep...

I have already pulled out all the carpet lining replace with herculiner..
i no longer have the bench seat in the back... plan on gettin some chrysler 300 srt seats.(which i hope will fit i know the goin to be some fab work involved...) then moved the stock buckets into the back...
dropped to about 3-4 inch all around.. might keep the back up a lil..
wheels: black rock series 942 type D steel rims 15x8 not sure tire setup yet might stick with some all terain tires..
black out all the lights with euro style red/clear lights no more amber lights anywhere. 8000k hid conversion headlights and foglights... clear corner and bumper housings with LEDS...
System.. (4) 6.5" pyle marine component speakers/ tweeter + (2) 5 1/4" rockford fostgate back doors... not the hatch..
!000w 4ch pyle marine amp/2000w mono pyle marine amp
2 12 inch marinee rockford fostage 1000w each 500rms
pioneer in dash tv 7" screen
engine for now L6 4.0 not sure H.O maybe
pacesetter headers 70-1191 long tubes into a true dual exhaust with h pipe/ flowmaster 40 mufflers

To get an idea i have some pics oh my srt xj check em out....
