take the bulb out. when you change the oil, add a little washer fluid.

Sounds like a faulty level switch in the water bottle.

Mine did the same thing when I first got it several months ago. I seem to have been lucky because after the weather warmed up a bit and we got a few good rains, the issue seems to have resolved itself. Perhaps there are some contacts that just need to be cleaned up?

hahah. Kinda serious. It's probably the windshield washer fluid sensor. They have them at autozone for about 15 bucks. I've never put one in.

I saw a pilot "fix" an airplane like that. Flying out to Martha's Vineyard in the middle of the night and a yellow light kept blinking..............so he unscrewed the light bulb and popped it in his pocket.

Hopefully, this will be the worst thing that ever happens to BigVaz

as stated above, just take the bulb out. It's not a tricky task. Should only have a couple phillips head screws holding the bezel on. Take them out and remove cluster. Find the bulb location and twist the housing to remove.

Yeah its the sensor in the fluid tank. you can either replace it, take the bulb out like suggested. Or you can disconnect the sensor. Thats what I ended up doing. Replaced the sensor once and it went again so I just connected the sensor. Though, my XJ is a '95 and the sensor is easy to get to.

Hey Bigvaz, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic or anything. That's just what I would do. Sorry my suggestion came across the wrong way. I'd take Polar's advice and just unplug the sensor.

Yeah, Actually I would do the same thing if it was mine. Just pop out the lightbulb.

Mine is overly sensitive as well, light came on if less than 3/4 full, I just did a disconnect of the plug on the reservoir, who needs it.

If you take the bulb out, save it, you will need it somewhere down the road

Bingo..

No need to pull a dash apart and remove the bulb, disconnect the harness at the top if it bothers you. This will not affect the pump operation.

Ok, i know this is probably me being lazy but.... I have a 2000 and I didnt see any wires or anything when I popped the hood... It was like the tank went immediatly between the fender walls....

I lifted mine myself & have done everything else under the sun... Just asking a question, seems like some people are moody...
