Default Low Oil Pressure Troubleshoot.

When it rains it flat out floods. Just had problems with my tranny and now it's my oil pressure. I have had no problems with my oil pressure until yesterday. All of a sudden the check gauges light comes on and the oil pressure starts getting low at red lights. CAME OUTTA NOWHERE. What's the likely suspect? Oil pressure sending unit? Thanks guys!

First get yourself a mechanical gauge and verify you do or do not have oil pressure. The results of the test will tell which way to go.

No or low oil pressure.......oil pump

Decent oil pressure sending unit.

Couldn't agree more. You need CONFIRMATION if your oil pressure readings are real so you know where to go next.

GOOD DATA = GOOD DECISIONS!

Many big box parts store will rent you a mechanical gauge for a few bucks.

Temporarily install it where the oil pressure unit currently resides.

Post back what you find!
