K I bought an '88 xj about a month ago and have built it up. I have worked out A LOT of issues that it had but still have a long way to go. (But for six hundred bucks and a strong 4.0 with less than a 140k i'm not complaining.)
I just recently noticed a small ziptie wrapped around the throttle right there where it hits the throttle stop. After I cut the tie off to where the throttle actually hits the throttle stop like it is supposed to it doesn't run worth a crap. Without the tie on there it idles at "maybe" 400RPMs but screams down the road still when driving it. If I am sitting in park or neutral and hit the throttle it has quite the hick-up before it'll rev up and then drops down to nothing, almost dying, and then comes back up to "maybe" 400RPM again.
I am supposed to be headin out on a trip for the weekend to play and need to have this problem fixed by then.
If anyone has even the slightest idea as to what I need to do to remedy this problem and get the idle and throttle response righteous I would greatly appreciate the input because I am stumped. Thanx...

FYI:I have another jeep than runs great and idles right and decided to try
switching the IAC from my other one to my recent buy with the low
idle and it did nothing...

If it is the TPS how do you adjust it? And do you think cleaning the throttle body and IAC my help? I just gave it a tune up...(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and pump.) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
