ok nearing my witts end here. 90 xj I6.

Got the jeep the other day with some issues but figured it wouldnt be too bad. what happening is that it idled at 300-400 rpms when rrunning and when u come to a stop it stall or when driving if you pup it into neutral it would stall unless given gas. at such a low rpmit had a little miss to.
SO i replaced the IAC,TPS,MAP, Intake/Exhaust gasket, Dist cap and button, checked plugs / wires, fixed some vac lines. Now it runs at about 600 rpms and is a litte better but not where it should be. AND i noticed that when it is put into gear the rpms droop a litte but not much however once back into neutral or park it does not returnto previous idle. Also checked the Fuel pressure its 31psi

ALL WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!

Now

My questions

when i replaced the tps i did not reset it or anything. could that have smthing to do with it? can that cause the idle to sit low still? or cause the IAC not to do its job?

also

I have a loose vac line i need to figure out where it goes,
heres a pic. i need to see a pic of what it hooks to in the engine bay cause i think that could also be a vac leak

That vacuum line goes to the heater thing with the 4 hoses going to it located above the dipstick. There should be a little nipple on a cylindrical black thingy. Can't think of any other words to describe it.

you can adjust your idle at the TPS sensor (Throttle Position Sensor). it has 2 screws in it and is plugged into the front of the throttle body. it is the sensor on the right. alse heater thing is called the Heater Control Valve. the cylinder thing on it should be about the same size as your fuel pressure regulator, and black.

look right behind the sensor, there is a little metal finget type thing that when you push the throttle down it goes with it, well it limits how far back after you let go that is is allowed to return, so just turn it a little to the right, turn off your jeep and start it again, see how the idle is

I cant help you too much on your problem. but....
ALL WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!
Your jeep is in the 84-90 range, these are called RENIX jeeps. The renix system does not have a check engine light, there are no "codes" either. The up side is Renix is very stable, can withstand alot of mods and abuse, and everything can be tested with a multimeter since the system is so simple..

tps arm is supposed to be below.. so when you hit the throttle plate it moves the tps arm also

the tps needs to be adjusted to specific voltage with the throttle at the closed position. DO NOT adjust the throttle stop screw. that sets base idle and should not need adjustment. get a volt meter and get your tps adjusted properly. do a search for it and you should be able to find it.

Yea, I noticed that too. I was wondering if mine was the one that was upside down though and it was supposed to be like that

EDIT: Haha, I see you posted on his page to let him know it's upside down. I'll have to laugh if that fixes whatever his problem his.
