Default loud clunk!

hey guys finally got our first snow of the year ( yes i know jan 13th and first snow!!!!!!!!!!!) got about 6 inches and its cold as hell here in illinois so its staying
well anyways when i start to hit the brakes harder it will make this nasty clunking sound from the front axle..dont know if its the ujoints making that rukus or bad control arm bushing? drive fine and brakes fine on dry only makes sound in snow and when its raining really hard.

my jeep is a 97 if it helps dana 30 front 33x12.5 km2 lockright locker too

I'd take my tires off. Check out the calipers make sure there not loose. Or nothing else is loose or broken.

theres a number of thing that can clunk in the front end you gotta get your hands dirty start wiggling,pushing, pulling any thing thats under there.

Mine has abs and if I try to brake(like lock 'em up) on snow or ice, it sounds like the whole front end is going to fall off. I would've thought bad susp/steering parts if the brake pedal wasn't goin' nuts..

auto lockers have been known to clunk, are you in 4wd when it happens?

yeah it was in 4wd the other day when it was happening...but it has also done it a few times when raining..also dont have abs on my jeep so i can rule that is one less thing to worry about
