The horizontal bolt going through the engine mount should be in it's center. You'll be able to tell by the condition of the rubber.

Jinking at low rpm? I might think it's missing. Did you eliminate the possibility that plugs, cap rotor and the wires are a problem?

A test, one at a time you can pull wires off the dist cap and see if pulling one doesn't change the RPM. "dynamic compression test" it's called. If you first loosen them on the cap, then start it, you might get zapped less!

Let's regroup here.

You have installed new plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Have you done the ground refreshing? If not, do nothing else until you have.

Have you replaced the vacuum harnesses? If not, do so before proceeding.

If you have an 87 or 88, have you cleaned out the C101 connector yet? If not, get it done.

Have you checked your intake manifold bolts to make sure they're snug? If not, no better time than now.

You have to get this stuff done begore bouncing around on other stuff. These KNOWN issues must be addressed. All it takes is time and a bit of money.

Bud, it might be nice if you could be a little more clear. We use punctuation, and describe what's up. Comprendy? If you have some issue, "English is not my first language" for instance, OK then..

If you mean the vacuum harness, first, thanks Cruiser, I didn't know Napa had that, and second, I myself would need to pick up a phone and call them to get the number. If you called them and had some problem, you might post back, "I called them but had a problem"

It's all good! Just remember we are not paid or anything!

Ok well I just purchased the vacuum harnesses and will get them on tomorrow. I forgot my reciept but I will post the part number tomorrow as well. I hope that it fixes my problems because this is becoming an expensive rough idle problem.

The fix will be worth it. Only one vacuum harness, or two?

Need to get them on and we'll see where you're at. Did you get a meter from work yet?
