no it wont.
take above advice, spray some FLAMMABLE carb cleaner or better yet starting fluid into the intake tract. if it hits and trys to run, you have a fuel issue.
like said above, just cause you get a little squirt of gas when you push on the valve does NOT mean you have sufficient fuel pressure. FYI, you can rent a fuel pressure gauge at autozone. doesn't actually cost anything, just put down the deposit and they will give it all back to you when you return the UNDAMAGED tool.

You know were the air cleaner is there will be a air duct coming off of that to the throttle body which is mounted on the intake.

This may sound really dumb, but how's that ballast that is bolted to the inner fender on the LH side. I had one go bad on my 92 and it caused a no run situation. For a test only, make a test wire to plug in place of it. Then try starting, just a guess btw.

It's sort of one being with the carb and throttle body, they are included in the air intake system for your engine. Have you found it yet? I think you know where it is, have you thought of buying a haynes manual? If you're sort of a beginner a haynes manual offers a lot of simple maintenance procedures and whatnot
