Smile Looking for a Roof Rack

I got a 2000 Cherokee Classic and am looking for a roof rack that will bolt in place of the factory rack, perferably one with a basket to hold a spare tire and have light tabs on the front. Also one that will allow an after market sunroof (the previous owner put in) to open.
Anyone have any suggestions or know of any good deals?

I did all the research a few months back. I found that the best value (not cheapest) was the Surco from Summit, or maybe Autoanything if they offer free shipping (rare, but it does come up).
Good luck.

yeah i got the surco and rigged up my own light bar using some angle iron (got the idea from millhousenator on jeepforum and he got the idea from FitchVA).

heres how it looks

if you want more pics just ask.

but you have to order the gutter mounts too..cant remember the part numbers for those..ill see if i can dig them up but they strengthen the rack and raise it up off the crossbars..

I also have the Surco and built my own crossbars to attach it to the original rack rails. Mine is the old style that move along the rail and are secured by thumb screws( 2 per rail per side for a total of 8) The ones I built increase the weight that the basket can carry.

I think that i will have to go with the Surco, it looks good, is priced right, and seem to be pretty well liked.

Good choice. Alot of xj owners go with surco. It's proven and it works for what we need it for.

I love my Surco, have my spare, hi-lift and lights mounted there. Been that way for almost 3 years no issues. Cant beat it for the price.

That's a nice setup man.

I always find myself staring at that MASSIVE tow hook. Geez....honda drivers fear that i bet. It's a bumper itself!
