Hello, I have a1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and I’m needing to find a place that sells the whole fuel pump assembly. Mine has the pressure regulator built into the pump which is making it harder to find. If y’all know where to buy the correct part please let me know, and thanks in advance.

 

search the archives for '96 XJ fuel pump, I think it is Carter that makes them, and they are/were available from Summit Racing (I think)

I have 3 x '96, and in one case, I repaired the fuel pump assembly by just replacing the pump itself, which I am almost certain is the same as a '95 or earlier, (but there is a chance it may be 97 and later model), the pump body looks different, so check pics on the internet

Quadratec sells the whole fuel pump assembly. It's made by Crown. The assembly is a bit expensive but worth it if it fixes the issue. This assembly is specifically made for only 1996 XJs.

The '96 model year was an oddball. The fuel pump and pressure regulator were together as an assembly on the side of the fuel tank. The 95 and earlier years had the pressure regulator at the fuel rail in the engine bay, but the 97 and later years had the whole assembly mounted on top of the fuel tank.
