LOOKING TO BUY ANOTHER XJ need advice
i need some advice, ive been looking for an xj years 1997-2001 and i found one here locally.a 98, its really nice and clean runs great, the only thing im hesitant on is the high miles. its got over 240xxx. he wants 2800 or best offer. im wondering if i should jump on it or not as i am looking for a daily driver, and seed it to be reliable. what do you guys think?
Really tough to give any meaningful advice from a short description of mileage and year on a forum. The miles are significant. The rig is 16 years old. 2800 sounds like about double the price I would pay for something that's rolled along the road that long and far. Although, the 1998 is a pretty good year for the XJ from a design and reliability standpoint. If it checks out mechanically, offer half and go from there.
it already sold lol so on to the next one
what you guys think of this one??

These guys are asking way too much. I'd blue book it and don't pay more then that. Doesn't matter what parts and money he put into it. You don't get your money back on those things.
JMO, if you start low balling peeps via text & e-mail without even making an effort to see the vehicle in person you can expect to get blown off. I don't even bother to respond to inquires like that. If a person is asking $5200 & you show up with $4800 in hand you might be able to cut a deal. All depends on attitude who knows the asking price can go up as well as down.

It IS an issue on those. If you buy one, have plenty of money in the bank to fix it later.
It may already be cracked when you buy it.
I would love to go check it out but it's also like 4 hrs away from me so yeah not going to drive out there for nothing . Anyway! I am looking for a 4 wheel drive. There are a few here in town but the price is way to high for what they are that's why I'm willing to travel a bit to get one I'd say around 4000 is my budget. Cuz I still would like to buy 37s for it lol
