The only advice I can offer then is for you too continue to save up cash as you search, money talks.

 

Honestly i just paid 3000 for my 90 with 200 k on it. Fresh paint done right every option every thing works on it 3.5 re lift 8.25 swap non disco hp 30 swap locked and geared. Thing looks amazing for being 24 years old. Its all about how well some thing is taken care of. Here in cali when im asked by friends who want xjs i tell them they need to spend about 3k or so to get a nice one. Anything below out here has issues. But the prices vary by market.

 

I just had a guy on here pick up my buds other xj 01 sport 170k, 5.5 re lift with drop brackets, 456 gears, 35's lined interior raised shocks mounts and front tubed axle for 4k. Even took it wheeling on Sunday to test it out. And he couldn't be happier with it.

About 2 months ago i picked up a 99 for 400 with a blown motor took my chances cleaned it up upgraded a few things and sold it.

Same with my 98 picked it up for 2200 With 84k, its a 2wd 2Dr 5speed very clean also but i need to get rid of it also but don't want to. Ill never find another one like that again.

 

I'd stay away from the 00-01s because the head, axle, emissions, and coil packs. Find the cleanest stock cherokee you can for like $2000-2500 and go from there, IMO.

 

yeah thats what i was thinking around 2500 to 3500 is good for a cherokee lifted or not, guys around here think that their xjs with well worn 33s and 4.5 inch lift is worrth 5 or 6 even 7 thousand. i really like this black 01 but its just to much.
