Default Looking to build my own custom longarm

I am toying with the idea of building my own custon longarm setup. Have looked at multiple designs from different manufacturers for ideas. I have even searched the web for photos of home built suspensions and I am open the design suggestions.

The easiest way would probably be a Y arm.. it connects at both the upper and lower arm locations but merges into a single arm so that you only have 2 arms instead of 4...

That is how every longarm setup I have looked at is designed.

U and Me both. I have been staring at my front suspension since I got it. I just don't know how much time and money I will have into it at the end, which could offset just buying one

It's not really about the time or the money for me. I just want to learn how to fab as much as I can on my own. That and being able to look at the end result and knowing I did it right.

i spent a good week just looking all over on forums for ideas. if you have any questions, i can try to answer then for you. the biggest question is what type of long arms you want...y-link, 4-link, 3-link?

I will be doing a y-link since I already have upper adjustables that I can use with the lower that I fab.

I have the short RE super flex ACAs on my rig. I plan on using them and adding to them to make a LA system down the road. I'm leaning toward a Y-link system type lay-out myself. I plan on tying the uppers into the lowers and lengthening them. I will tie them into the cross member, and that is where my ideas stop. I have yet to decide how I will fab the cross member bracket system, but I have a few ideas. I like the idea of using the existing arms, then rebuilds will be easier.
