any pros and cons with the 93,, a buddy of mine found one with 130,000 miles for 1200,, anything to look out for on these? any help would be great

 

Great year, just look out for rust. That is an awesome price, jump on it if it checks out ok.

what areas are know to rust on these?

 

Floorboards mostly.... crawl underneath is... both front and rear floor boards and also the back cargo area, though you usually can't see it unless you pull back the carpet.

 

Mine is a '93 Country Edition and I love it. 187,000 miles and only minor issues. Oil leaks:valve cover gasket, oil filter adapter "O" ring, Power steering leaks:Pressure and return hoses, electricalower windows in-op from all but the drivers control, Brakes:rear wheel cylinders that leak.
And there are most likely other issues with these years, but it's all I can think of right now. When I decided to get a Cherokee, I wanted a pre '95 so I wouldn't have to worry about emission issues and catalytic converters. Sure a '93 may have those problems, but it's OBD1 so it's easy and cheap to fix.
