Default Locker question

Don't have a lot of money to spend and was thinking of installing a powertrax locker and alloy shafts in my 99 XJ's 8.25. Wondering if that would be good or for around the same amount of money for that would I be able to go with a 8.8 with 4.10's and maybe a positrac or basic lunchbox type since this is my DD

Need to know more about your setup (tire size, normal usage, etc).

As a whole ... the 8.25 is a fine axle for what most people here need. You can always do the shafts later (if you even need to --- again, what's your setup & intended usage).

Your locker choices are slightly limited because of the 29 spline 8.25 ... but I can help out with some number crunching if you would like. Just give me a shout back-channel if you are interested.

You shouldn't need shafts unless you go to 35's

Running 33's currently and have 4.10 gears currently, don't plan on running a bigger tire size since it's the DD

good, it'll make living with a locker on pavement easier than with a 5spd
