Exclamation Little or Big Problem

I own a jeep cherokee classic.. Recently had some work done at the dealership (tires rotated and balanced) since that I have been having problems with my car. Mainly when I hit 50-57 MPH my front tires shake hard, to the point where the steering wheel tries to turn.. Anyone have this problem or know what the problem is please let me know I am at a loss. Also it has been having a problem starting i recently changed out the spark plugs, so please let me know if u got an idea of what might be going wrong with it? It starts on the second turn over just as a heads up...

Anyone know of any good parts sites that are reasonably priced.. IE chips, exhaust, headers, etc..

Thank you all i appreciate the help!

First things first, check the lug nuts, make sure they are tight.

check lugs, maybe check if your wheels are bent, go to your local discount tire and get a free tire inspection. they put it on the balancer and see if it is balanced correctly and see if the wheels are bent and so on. wont hurt to try it.

Death Wobble can occur on non-lifted XJ's also.

Speed range of AVERAGE DW 45-55 MPH but some have had it as low as 35.

Scary. Very scary. Especially when you are on the upper end of the range.
Most times a bump or uneven roadway sets it off.

Is this normal? By no means.

Most times it is caused by worn steering/suspension components. Such as tie-rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings and even excess wear in steering box. BUT since you just had your tires balanced and rotated at the stealership, there is one more option.

Take it back and have them re-balance your tires.
If they won't, make a BIG stink. The stinkier, the better.

First things first. go back to the dealer and complain. Then take it from there.

it did it after you got tires mounted? I'd bring it back and complain the longer you wait the more likely they'll say it's not their fault. it could be any of these things - a defective tire - loose lug nuts -rim not seated on hub properly - improperly balanced wheel Good luck!

Default death wobble

I have this issue too. it starts at 50-55 and goes away at about 60mph. My jeep is old so no telling. I would suggest you start the checklist. I found an awesome link to help get folks like us started. http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/techart...athwobble.html

check all steering linkage and suspension components.

as for starting, check your fuel pump. when you start it, turn the key all the way to just before the start position, let the fuel pump kick in for a sec then try and start it.
