Here, join the National Guard, have them pay for your school, use the sign on bonus to pimp out the jeep...and if Obama deploys you (not that likely) use that money for something else...like a house! You know how much I've paid for my schooling...a total of 0 dollars, they even pay for my books and send me an extra 600 a month while I'm in school...bomb way to go bro!

What do you mean no Jeepin? Inthe sand box (Iraq) and Afganistan there are not all that many roads where the Marines need to go. (been there done that - 6 Years Marine Corps) Once you drive a HumVee in deep sand, or rough mountain terrain you will want one. Did you know that hte HumVee actually has top loaded wheel hubs, with gear reduction at each wheel. Think of your current max gear reduction then add an additonal set of gears at each wheel. (BadA$$).
Should you decideto serve, make sure you get a gareented Job from the recuriter, that way you will know exactlly what you will be doing, and don't get screwed.

Sorry to hear about getting turned down. I come from a family of Marines, all the men served, several during times of conflict, and we would have it no other way. My wif'e family is traditionally Navy, she did 4 years, and her father was a lifer.
Thanks for asking to serve, ther eare way too many out there who have not asked, and take way too much for granted.
Sorry thread jack

I think that will disqualify you for being a Bomb disposal tech, and or an electronics tech. Other than that the field should be wide open. I was in during the 1st Iraq, and Iwas not deployed to that area. I was an Air Traffic Control Communciations Technician. = longest school the Marines have. After being in Japan for a year they told me that I was going to complete my tour in Twenty Nine Palms AZ. I said no way, and signed up for Embassy Duty, man what a ride, first in my class I got first selection, so I went to the Vatican City in Rome for 18 months, then they got me in a desert... Niamey Niger West Africa (Google Earth it) right at the bottom of the Sahara - man was it hot.
Would I change anything- only one or two, but I'm not supposed to talk about those. Mostly I woudl do it all over again.
If they take ya, have fun with it - I sure did.

As for my jeep, new tires should be good. They're going to be a lot cheaper than they would be brand new. Treadwright wins. As far as installation goes, michelin has a pretty cheap deal for installation and balancing.
