Is this a limited slip diff?
It's a Dana 35.

yes. make sure you put in fluid with a friction modifier.

Yep... got one in mine too... I was told not many XJs came with the LSD option from the factory... It's obviously not as beefy as a locker...but in all the places I've had my XJ.... it's beat the you know what out of having and open dif...so it's worked good for me so far.

Guys will tell you those really aren't worth it.
Clutch packs failing I guess.
My thinking is just be better in the snow seeing how my Jeep is strictly a DD.
The Trac Loc seems to be a bit more common in XJ's with a D35.
It is the 8.25 that I don't see to many that came with it.

I'm just glad not having the friction modifier in it doesn't cause any harm.
But I'll buy a bottle when passing the shop.

My 8.25 came with the Trac Loc unfortunately, I had to pull that garbage out of there and put an open carrier in so I could install my Spartan locker.
