Default Light out?

So my left blinker indicater light is solid. i have replaced the blinker, that didnt fix it so i put in a new flasher relay that fixed teh blinker. The indicator is still solid so i replaced 1 more exterior light and 2 more interior lights. Every ecterior light works fine why does it still say i have a light out, do i need to reset it or something like that?

what about the indicator bulb in the cluster itself? it could be shorted on! usually if it's solid, it's a closed loop and if it's blinking double time, then a bulb in the loop is out. i could be wrong. does you four way flasher work?

Flashers work every exterior light works. Would it even come on if it was an interior light for example maybe a light behind the dash?

If the little green arrow is lighting up when you turn your headlights on then you have some crossed wires somewhere.

Those indidcators should blink along with your turn signals or hazards no matter if the headlights are on or off.

Where would the most common wire problem be or should I just start taking them all apart and checking them?

look at the turn signal lever - the plastic housing with connectors tends to deteriorate and cause shorts between the terminals - got to unplug it from the column and look inside the connector block - this is on my 96, not sure how the 88 is set up...but you should start with what gets used the most....look here for renix tips..... http://www.lunghd.com/On_Site_Tech.htm .....good luck!
