Default Light Grinding When Backing Up & Turning

Looking ahead (beyond the 4x4 build), I'm looking at fixing up the 2WD. One major issue is just starting to develop. When I'm backing up and turning (like how you'd do it when backing out of a parking spot in a parking lot), it sounds/feels like I'm turning on gravel. Not so much during a wide turn, but moreso when making harder turns. It's not that bad, yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Your ideas? Thanks.

Oh, it's a stock auto '96 XJ.

Also, I do NOT hear/feel anything when turning the wheel at a dead stop. It only happens when I'm moving backwards. It feels like it's coming from the driver's side.

When I get back from vacation, I'm going to lift it, wiggle the wheels, and see if there's any movement. Anything else I should look at while I'm under there?
