Hey guys Xmas time is rolling around and I want a light bar(rack?) for the roof of my 96 Cherokee, preferable able to hold four rights(lights dont need be included with the rack) Basicly im looking for some reccomendations on these racks and where they can be purchused online and shipped to canada. for a full rack i would go with a surco, i got one (as do many others on this site) and i'm sure they would all recommend it.

 

Do you plan on using the rack for other things? spare tire, hi-lift, shovel, etc? Or is it's main job going to be as a light rack?

I dont want a light bar like that for my bumper...just because Im hoping on ordering a Warn Winch Bumper this spring. So as for this surco..would this rack be able to hold a spare tire and some recovery equipment? And is it availbe on websites that ship to canada?

 

yes they can hold that plus more things like bike rack and ski/snowboard rack. very nice rack. i have my spare on my surco along with hi lift and four lights with home made mount. its a pretty sweet rack and cheaper than others!! and yes they will ship to canada.

Surco is sold by Summit Racing and that can be bought with several different accessories like HiLift mount, Light mount and Spare tire mount. There are also several ways to mount the Surco to your Heep.

 

another rack i considered was a yakima load warrior or mega warrior. they are more expensive but cool IMO. thule also makes a similar rack but i would go with surco like many others had.....

 

by the way.... have some patience and wait for a deal. look on craigslist and ebay before you buy new. i waited awhile and got my surco rack with spare tire carrier for 51 bucks plus shipping. WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!!

 

i got mine for $50. not sure who makes it though. you can check out the coleman rack, kinda compact and cheap i think.

I recently checked out www.jcroffroad.com and they have some nice stuff, including winch bumpers. Their safari rack looks really nice and comes with a hi-lift jack.
