First before I answer the question..This link will be your best friend..
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/search.php

Now to answer this question..Rough country makes good lifts and are widely used and liked and hard to beat for the money. You may you may not need an SYE, only way to know is install the lift and take it for a drive, if you get vibes check rear pinion angle first and shim if needed then drive again still get vibes you need an SYE. You can use a t-case drop short term but definitely not ideal for any heavy offroading long term.

Just a good bit of advice. I don't want to come off as not wanting to answer questions but the best thing you can do is search the site first, as many times you will find an answer. Then if you have any further questions in more detail you can ask. Again do not take this the wrong way as I welcome all new members and all questions but just wanted to educate you a bit as well... Searching the site has hands down answered so many questions for me.

Just get the lift then decide what direction to go if you have vibes. If you are mainly going for looks a t-case drop will work fine. If you want to do some heavy offroading an SYE would be a better avenue. I think COS on here has a t-case drop and he wheels pretty hard. As for the shims you will have to measure the pinion angle. I would have to find that link on how to do it unless someone else has it handy and can post it shortly.
