Default Lifting a 93 2wd??? Need Some advice!

Ive been reading and doing research all day long, Im about to buy a 93 2wd sport, 4.0L automatic, Ive read that 31" Tires will fit with a 3" lift is this true for 2wd also? With no regearing? Im not looking to make a rock crawler just something that will get through some muddy spots on job sites and stuff!!! It will be a daily driver... so heres what my plans are if someone can tell me if this will work with no major mods please let me know, It may change my mind on buying this jeep!

31x10.50.15 Mickey T Baja claws
15x8 4.00"BS Cragar soft 8's

Black Diamond 3" Lift Kit which includes:
pre set coil springs
Lower control arms
add-a-leafs
ft/rr black diamond a/t shocks
and if I need them new U-bolts

Will this work? Is there anything else I am going to have to get to do this if I even can? Thank you for any info you can give me!!!!

It would work, but you can run 31s on stock wheels so you don't need to buy aftermarket wheels. Since you plan on having to go through some mud with it, I would recommend holding out for one that has 4wd. 31s fit on 3" very nicely.

Looks like it will work. 31's will fit under a 3" lift fine, 2wd makes no difference. I dunno how much the black diamond lift kit is, but full leaf packs in the back would be nice, the add-a-leaf makes for a rougher ride, and they don't last. check rough country, you can probably get a 3" kit with full leaf springs for the same price a the black diamond kit i suspect.

Can I suggest that you re-evaluate your plan of attack, and rather than worrying about a lift as your first priority, get that rear end locked up?
Even stock sized tires will get you around a jobsite, IF they can get traction. You could lift your Jeep 3 feet, and run 44 inch tires, but if it can't get a grip, or spins one tire, you're gonna be sitting there wondering what went wrong. Do the locker thing, and then think about the lift.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Yeah but a locker ain't gonna do crap when his stock tires get caked with mud(I've seen jobsites with some pretty nasty stuff) and he's either dug himself a hole or is just plain stuck. having 4wd on stock tires would do way more than a locker on stock tires, its easier if all 4 tires are pulling themselves over stuff instead of the back two trying to pull themselves over stuff AND push the front tires over stuff

Bear in mind a 4wd XJ with open diffs is still a 2WD XJ, just with one wheel spinning at each end in really sloppy stuff. A locked 2WD will go places alot of stock 4x4s can't. Not to mention that gas mileage and maintenance is a bit better on a 2WD XJ. That said (I'm done defending 2WD XJs now, lol), I still agree that you should hold out on a 4x4, unless of course the 2WD truck is irresistably low mileage and mint. I got my 2WD XJ due to it's amazing condition and the fact that I KNEW nobody had beaten on it offroad, even though some 4x4s were available in my price range. I've been putting together parts for a 4x4 conversion though, so I never intended on keeping it 2WD forever. If you do end up getting a 2WD, I would recommend getting the rear locked, and save money on a lift by doing a budget boost or a bastard pack lift and get your 31s. That would be a great combo and would get you through almost any jobsite conditions, just don't plan on doing any rockcrawling!

the suspension setups are no different on the 2wd's from the 4wd's. 2wd's are just a tube but set up the same as a D30 so no mods needed there. some people have problems with break line's not being long enough for a 3", they get drive line vibes, bump steer is increased (ZJ pitman arm is a 1" or so drop for XJ's). all of these problems are relatively cheap to fix.
however if you have a u-pull junk yard around you may want to hit that up first to see if you can find a few of the parts at a lower cost to you. keep in mind that ZJ front springs will work on the XJ. you will want to keep an eye out for an XJ or ZJ with aftermarket shocks. Also if you are looking at an XJ, this can sometimes help, look at the rear springs. if you see a wedge at the spring perch that is most likely a lifted XJ, I know a lot of the companies are bolting them right on to the full packs now to help realign the rear drive line.
