I know im missing a thread somewhere but oh well, i just bought a 2000 xj classic with 180,000 on her, d windows, 31" goodyear's, not sure what lift but it sets higher than my old xj with a 3inch rc lift, shocks say black diamond at, that aside... im having a rattling noise when i start her cold, it goes away as she gets warmer, im thinking its the lifters, ive had 2 xj's before this and im new to the forum, i havent had lifter problems before and dont know if i recognize them right, how hard is this to fix, is there a easy fix? cheap fix? whats the best fix? i know im asking alot but we're all jeepers....

 

I'm a noob, but I had significant lifter knock. Pulled the valve cover and found not enough oil flowing. I treated it with mystery oil, and have only taken a few test drives, but it has reduced the knock considerably already.
Worth a shot for 7$..

 

im pretty mechanical, what was causing the oil not to flow? its due an oil change and ill try an additive in the next day or so...
