Lifter "ticking" noise
1989 jeep cherokee xj 4.0 L 6cyl. The noise is on and off but def some crud in my lifters but not totally sure or what to do about it. Tried "Marvels Mystery oil", that didn't do a thing. Doesn't happen when it's cold out but it warms up a lot in the winter where I live on cape cod. Is there any solution to this beside taking my valve cover off and going through everything? Anything else I could use to flush it out/ break down the particles stuck inside there? If that actually the problem? Could be something else I really don't know. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Its a jeep thing... only cures remove head and replace lifters and every thing from there up .While heads off might as well get valve job. Then this causes issues down in the bottom end . So now your into complete rebuild. See how this snow ball keep changing oil and using Marvel. Jm2cw....
