Default Lifter testing

Hey guys I have a couple lifters that aren't kicking up oil, pulled them out and can't disassemble them past the 3 components that pop right out, how do I check that they are functional? I can't pump them with the rod either.

Side note, building a new 30, how have you guys gotten out the diff side upper control arm bushing? The other one pops right out, but this one is in there incredibly well

Sounds like they have build up of deposits.
I'd soak them in gas for awhile to free them up.

I just broke down and bought a new set of sealed power for <$70... The comparison is crazy compared to what I had, I had no idea they were this springy haha. Hopefully these will quite my engine up, along with the new high flow pump!
Thank you.

Mine were completely bottomed out, broken springs or something, I'd say well collapsed.
