Lifted with blocks
I am wondering if someone has a good reference to adjusting a lift that was done with blocks. I can provide pictures if need be, but I'm sure you guys have seen it numerous times.
The problem I am having is that I get a noise when I turn. I took it in to a 4x4 place here and they told me that the blocks have a flat side on them that is supposed to be pointed toward the engine compartment. At the moment they are pointed towards the back of the jeep. Everything else feels solid and nice. The tech guy didn't find anything wrong either. He just told me that they aren't pointed in the right direction and it is causing the spring to rub on the frame a little bit which is making a noise.
Seems to make sense so I would like to adjust it myself. They won't do it there because they didn't install it in the first place.

Sorry if I left anything out that you need to know

Can you get a picture of where its rubbing on the body/frame?
Honestly I have never used blocks but also never knew you could install them backwards.
To rotate them, just take it all apart. Jack up the rear, put the frame on stands. Support the axle, remove the wheels/tires, unbolt the U bolts, lower axle from springs and blocks. Rotate blocks and reassemble.

im not quite sure how the blocks can cause the springs to rub the frame. blocks are just that, blocks, unless they are tapered then the shorter side of the block faces the front, tapering the pinion up towards the tranny.

Sorry I havent been to get back to you guys or to get pictures...
This is happening in the front end on the drivers side. It is hitting the frame or whatever it is that is directly to the motor side of the spring. Its not full on smashing in to it or anything, more like rubbing on it. There is a spot that looks to be polished or something like that. The rest of the area is dirty and this one spot is quite clean and chromed out looking haha. Its no causing me any real problems, just make some noise and kinda bugs me a bit.
Does that help? I can provide whatever info you need to best of my knowledge.
Thank you in advance

I just uploaded some pics as attachments.. hopefully that will help. In one pic you can clearly see that the spring is not centered with the block...

Those are called Coil Spacers for future reference.
You need an Adjustable Track bar. So that your axle will re-center itself under the vehicle.
That should get your spring from rubbing as much.

Wow! You guys are fast! I dont know what a trac bar is... can you see that I have one? Or can you see that I need to get one? haha Sorry for being uneducated in this.. trying to learn
Also, is this a common thing? Will it make a popping type noise and sometimes a almost really faint howl?

You will need one. You have one it is just too short now since you lifted the Jeep.
You can search for an aftermarket one. Google XJ adj track bar.
Or you can use my write-up
CHeck out the write-ups section and you will see it in the XJ section. It is called relocating your track bar.

Look at your bumper then squat down to where you see your axle. Take a picture.
After that. Start reading a whole bunch of stuff about your jeep.
You need to learn and just asking questions that could be found with a lil effort will upset some people.
Time to get edumacated
