Talking Lift and tires install

Hey guys. So I just wanted to post up some before and after pics of my jeep. We installed my lift and tires today and I think it looks great! We installed a Rustys 3 inch kit and the tires are 265-75-16 Bfg Rugged Trail T/As.

What do you think?

Thanks, but they dont rub at all. I can go lock to lock in the front with no scrubbing and no rubbing in the rear as well. Now Im sure if i did some hard core trail riding then it prob would. But I spend my time on the beach, not in the mud. I cant stand the cleanup after!

It looks worse in the pics than it really is. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I did not go with 31 10.50s like everybody else. I like the stock look with the tires in the fenders and i used my stock wheels so I had to go with (what was reccommended for the kit) 265-75-16.

so is 265/75/16 bigger than my 31/10.5s? i was just wondering this because i have a 3 inch lift too and my rig looks like it sits up above the tires a little bit more

I think it really depends on the brand tire and the tread pattern. We measuered my tires and they measured about 31.5 inches. Thats one of the reasons I went with these instead of others. Even when my tires begin to wear down they will still be close to 31s. Other tires we measured, measured 31 inches and some measured under. Also my jeep has 170k on it so the stock rear leafs were a little wore out. Im probably a half an inch shorter or so then it should be.

ok thanks, so there pretty darn close but it sounds like there a little bit bigger...you didn't replace the leaf springs when you lifted it? for the most part an add-a-leaf or just blocks or shackles don't really work as they should...if you had a brand new stock leaf spring i suppose an AAL or shackles would be a good bet but if yours were anything like mine (at 144k miles when i lifted it mine was pretty much bent the wrong way it was so worn out) then i'd suggest saving up the dough for a brand new 3.5" lift leaf spring, i know there kinda pricey. there probably the most expensive component in lifting a jeep which is why it seems a lot of people try to get away with just an AAL or blocks

Yeah, Rusty's, which is where i got my lift, has another lift I can buy called the budget booster. It designed to get high miliage vehicles back to or just over the original stock hight. It claims to add an additional 1 inch to the front and rear and can be combined with the 3 inch that I already have. it only cost about 100 bucks and I will prob go that rout in the future. I dont want to go much higher than that. My break lines are already about as tight as I want them to be and I dont want to install new break lines.

And thanks taylorworld. Im sure your jeep isnt a turd. I dont think they make a turd version. My buddy has an 89 that he has rolled numerous times and he still drives it every day. I was actually looking for a jeep closer to the year of yours but I couldn't pass this one up. I bought it for just a little more than 2500 bucks.

265/75R16 are 32's BFG AT's are 31.7 and the rugged's he has are 31.5. the AT's are going to rub because of the cut on the sholder of the tire. they are slightly smaller than 32 but thats how they measure. 31's are actually the same way, they are smaller than 31. 265 is 10.4" wide. this maybe why he doesn't have a rubbing issue. also what is your back spacing of the rims? if you are less than 5 that would help too. looks good by the way. wish my body was as clean and undented as yours.

thanks, I live in north carolina. We dont see much snow here so no salted roads. It used to be all country dirt roads here where I live but in the last 10 years or so there has been massive amounts of development. Not very many dirt roads left.
