Default Lift/Tire Size Question??

So I'm putting a 2" Skyjacker XJ20 lift on my 2001 XJ and I was wondering how 31's would fit. Will they fit nice or will there be rubbing issues? Thanks for any help. Also, My tire guy is recommending a Yokohama Geolander AT/S. Anyone know if this si a good tire. I like the aggresive look, but it is apparently a good road tire as well. Thanks for any info

For 31's I have read that you need a minimum 3" lift.

i think you'll only be able to fit 30's...i had that lift on my previous jeep, and had tires smaller than 30s and they could've been a little bigger

I had 31s on mine right before the lift. I drove with them on for about 2 weeks and everybump in the road cause them to rub, also turning was a issue. I would guess that with a 2in lift they would work fine but its hard to say until you do it

Fitting tires is mainly about how much trimming you're willing to do, you can fit 33s stock if you don't mind trimming a TON of sheetmetal off. to fit 31s without rubbing(not counting the LCAs at full lock) you need 3" of lift and bumpstop extensions. You can fit them on 2" but you may have to do some trimming to prevent them from rubbing

Thanks for all the info. I forgot to mention that I do very little offroading and this lift and new tires is mostly for looks. I don't know if that makes a difference when factoring in how much they will rub
