Question Lift setup. What do you guys think?

Hey guys. So, I've been regularly browsing these forums and trying to get as much info as possible. I have a 1996 cherokee sport 5 spd and I was thinking of installing the Rough Country 4.5" N2 series lift kit with full packs. Since I see they haven't solved the short rear leaf spring problem I was going to get the adjustable shackles and the shackle relocation bracket. Since I'd be getting a bit of lift in the back I was going to get 1.75" coil spring spacers for the front. So, what do you you guys think? Get different springs with the RC kit or stick with what I have planned? Thanks a lot guys. I always go hear whenever my jeeps acting up.

I don't have any experience with the RC kit you're talking about.. But a 1.75" coil spacer seems a little tall to match the shackle relocation brackets. (But im no expert by any means) And 6"s of lift on short arms won't be a very fun ride.

ANYWAY to get to what I was gonna say, look in the vendor showcase section at FST's shackle relocation brackets. He has two versions, one that doesn't add any lift at all and one that does. Something to look into

That sounds about right, depending on how much those shackles lift? Why would 4.5 not be enough though? You will want to get adj upper and lower control arms too.

I have RC stuff and its just that, rough and cheap.

What you going to do about drive line vibes?

Hows the steering components now? If they are old I advice replacing the vital components (tie rods, u joints, hubs, ect.) before putting the stress of a bigger lift on them.

dont know what you're budget is... but check out rubicon express products from seriousoffroadproducts.com. i got my 4.5 coils,3.5leafs,1 inch shackles and all RE shocks for under700 shipped. it is more expensive than the rc kit is no doubt but i feel that it was worth the money. not knocking RC at all as i am running their longarm kit, brake lines, and quick disconnects.

I was hoping to sit at 5-5.5" I thought about getting the 3" kit then installing 1.5" shackles and the shackle relocation bracket. I just like the idea of having 4.5" coils and leafs so I can upgrade in the future. I've seen a lot of complaints about using stock shackles with the RC 4.5" in which the angles are horrible. I'm not really worried about ride comfort.

I am just going to use transfer case drop for now then SYE soon when I can afford it.

My steering components are older but everything is tight up front

Yea, I also thought about getting the 4.5 x series kit because its so complete but not get their leaf springs included. So, that kit but with the Rubicon Express 4.5" leaves is also an option. I hear they are great.
