I got a 1993 jeep cherokee sport. I wanna put a lift on it and bigger tires. If i put a 3.5 inch suspension lift on the jeep. Then added some 31 inch tires. Would the gears be able to run it and be reliable?
Not flip over.
Not to much gas lose.
WOuld it be a good lift for my jeep?

I run a 3.5 lift and 31 tires and I didn't re gear. I don't think that you would have to. But about the gas mileage part I never really pay attention to that aspect.

i have my 89 lifted 3" on 31x10.50 with the stock gears, 3.07. its not bad but its not great either. i get close to 25 mpg on longer trips according to gps and i get 18-20 mpg during my weekly commute. i tend to drive easy so that might help along with the manual trans.
whether it would flip or not? that depends on how you drive. mine seems to hold the road pretty well, but it's no sports car. when you get wheels make sure they have more offset to help with stability.
whether or not its a good lift for your jeep depends on what you plan to do with your jeep. i went 3" because those are the parts that i came across. i plan to go another 2" and get 32" tires. that will give it a decent look and yet still be usable as a daily driver and whatever else, trailer tow, desert trip, rescue...
i had to trim my flares just a little to clear the tires when going through off camber driveways. 3" lift with 32" or 33" tires would require significant trimming and bump stop extensions if you go rock crawling.
on a side note, i do plan to regear soon. i will be replacing the high-mile D35 with a C8.25 w/3.55 and zj disc brakes. the 3.55 gears will put it back to stock gearing and should make driving much nicer. not so much sliding the clutch to get going in first.
