lift info plz
O.K. guys and gals
the 96 XJ is running great so now I'm thinking about adding some lift.
it is a daily driver so nothing excessive, say in the 1" to 3" range
what would you recommend?
and what would it take to do it?
is it possible to just lift without dropping anything (tc or whatever)
the main reason I want it higher is that I always hit my head when securing the kid in the back seat and I'm only like 5' 6"
thanks in advance
FRED

Ok well i was in the same boat and actually the same height as you lol but on to your options.
There's sevral lift kits avaliable but i will name a few of the popular.
Here's the basic 2" lift it comes with everything needed and is a pretty nice lift.

Now if your looking for more height and the ability to fit 31's this is the kit i got it's a basic kit also but comes with what you need, its the kit i bought and i like it alot.

Now if your looking for a kit with all the extras and alittle bit more lift
then this is a great kit.

Yes roughcountry kit doesnt ride bad at all in my opinion and yes you will need longer shock whith the rubicon express kits, with those you need to add about $180 to the kit with the options with shocks.
What i did was buy the rough country 3" lift and then just buy the longer rear brake line from rubicon express for like $18 you dont really needed a longer one for most cases but i wanted to be safe so the whole everythng total was under $300 so its a nice kit to start with and can always be upgraded later.
