Default Lift gate Removal Procedure

Thinking that for the paint job I may want to take the lift gate off so as I can work the entire roof, sanding it down. My question is how best to disconnect the wiring and washer fluid hosing. What’s a good procedure to accomplish this task?

I did some investigative work last evening and it looks as though at least on the wiring part it runs down into the quarter and two wires connect via a plug connection, still a few wires missing, is there a ground somewhere?

That would be the least of your worries, The hinges have shims and it looks like it would be a nightmare to fit back and ajust to fit back.
It couls leak when it rains, I would just sand and paint with roof that is what i did.

I noticed those nice little items, I don't think they'll be too big an problem. Ultimately I shall just see want my friend(dude doing the actual painting) thinks on the issue. I just want to be prepared with the information.
