lift gate on my cherokee wont open..?

Default lift gate on my cherokee wont open..?

Ive had to pull on it a few times everytime to get it open for the past month or so now. Went camping last weekend and now it wont open at all. its unlocked cause i can feel the difference in it being locked and unlocked. idk how to fix it if i cant get the door open. help please

can you pull the inner panel and see if everything is connected so you know for sure its all working ,then lube the latch mechanizems real good.

I just had this problem in my rig after hitting the bumper on some slick rock! I just used the BFH to put my bumper back in its place!!! Lol
Probably not what's wrong with urs but do check to see if its not getting caught up on any thing!

its not getting caught on anything. I cant pull the panel with the door closed. thats the problem lol

Sounds like you tweaked the body somehow wheeling your jeep. It's pretty common in unibody rigs to have some issues with the doors/hatch once you take it offroad.

all you have to do is flex out someware then open the hatch then take of the plastics and adjust them and oil them and youll be fine

yeah climb in the back and pull the panel till you can reach in there and work with it till it works, ive have to do this numerous times

thanks for the help guys. i appreciate it. ill give it a shot. i can understand how that could happen from wheeling cause after moab its been difficult for girls to open up the back doors on my heep lol
