i would use a good set of shackles instead of blocks if you dont already have shackles that would be the way to go

a shackle that long will hang down all goofy like and will kill your leaf springs rather quick.

bastard pack is your best bet on a budget

You're comparing a 1/4 ton rear end to a 1/2 ton...

Of course theres a difference.

and depending on how much offraoding you do , i know guys with huge blocks , but there straight mud trucks with tractor tires and they have some sort of ladder bar set up to prevent the rear from twisting

Sorry I'm not understanding. I want a 3" lift. What on my 94 XJ is not strong enough to use 2" Shackles and Blocks? I know it's a 1/4 ton but what's the difference. Is the rear end not strong enough? I have a 1/2 ton suburban and a 1 ton Ext. cab long bed pick up with 6" blocks. No problem ever. Why is the XJ different? I know full springs would be the right way to go. Thanks

the ones used in trucks stock are cast metal........aftermarket ones typically are cast aluminum.

aluminum blocks break!!!! cast ones dont!!!!

full size trucks also have a way thicker leaf pack......xjs have soft leaf packs. this will cause axle wrap(amplified with blocks on either but more so on the softer xj packs.

if your gonna cheap out on this mod then at least do it the safe way.

bastard pack plus shackle
or add a leaf and shackle.

remember, you drive on the same roads as all of us and not to mention your family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there ya go

i think you mean cast IRON and no one is trying to be unsafe, i was just asking for some part numbers, now i already made bastard packs and i want a little 1" block, my shackle bolts are extremely rusty and probably seized, they arent an option, michigan winters are hard on cherokees, u bolts and blocks are the quick easy route. any idea on axel shaft diameter for a 1991 cherokee laredo 4.0 ho auto 4x4 with part and full time 4x4.
